In-Service Computed Radiography
Requirement
The UK based client had a requirement to perform in-service radiography as an alternative to conventional film radiography. Global NDT Consultants was approached to develop the Computed Radiography (CR) procedure and perform comparative trials.
Solution
Several computed radiography systems were trialed with specific focus on the following key areas: portability and robustness of unit, usability of system, software features for image quality and analysis, and cost. Corroded samples were radiographed using both conventional film and various CR systems before selecting the final system and providing training to the client's radiographers.
